We have all done things we regret. Sometimes we can make up for them and sometimes we can't. The things we can make up for may take a lot of effort and a lot of anxiety until things are made right, but, at the end of the day, making things right is the only way.

This is a song about quick tempers and along time to regret the anger. A couple has a fight just as they are going to bed. He drives off in a fit of anger, drives for a long time, and then he regrets his actions. The rest of the song is how he is trying to get back the her and what they had before, and, you know that he is sincere because he's been gone too long.
