Story Behind The Song
"I Know Some About Lonesome" was inspired by two great loves: Hank Williams, Sr. and booze (although not in that order). First the booze story: I was having a few with a good pal, and one of us (it's a little hazy which one) came up with this title "in the moment." After that, I called up the spirit of old Hank - "I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry" in particular - and built what everyone (so far) says is a solid tune around a good title. Features the legendary Chip Znuff on bass. Enjoy!
Song Description
The song and its production is a story of a "less-is-more" subtractive approach, with lots of holes, air & space. The idea was for the sparse production to speak to the solitude and emptiness portrayed by the lyrics & singer ( how'd we do?.

Lyrics
I KNOW SOME ABOUT LONESOME
By M. Larkin © Spicy Mojo Music (BMI)All Rights Reserved
Somethinâ?? knockin on the door - I donâ??t wanna let it in
Been around here before - All I know is it ainâ??t my friend
And Iâ??m tired â?? so tired of being alone
Iâ??m tired â?? so tired
Heart sinking like a stone
CHORUS
And I know some about lonesome
I know how it feels to spend the night alone
I know some about lonesome
And I donâ??t want to know no more
Canâ??t blame it on no one else - Got here all by myself
The hard truth is a bitter pill - Donâ??t make it any better still
And Iâ??m tired â?? so tired of being alone
Iâ??m tired â?? so tired
Heart breaking cold and slow
CHORUS
BRIDGE
Who said true love never dies? Who said a cowboy never cries?
How come nobody ever told me the truth?
The only one you can count on is youSomethingâ??s knockin on the door
I donâ??t want to let it in
Been around here too many times before
How I wish it was an old friend
CHORUS
And I know some about lonesome
Iâ??ve been watching too many sunsets all alone
I know some about lonesome
And I donâ??t want to know â?? I already know
I donâ??t want to know â?? no more
