Tell Me Again (Male Vocal)

Story Behind The Song

I was thinking about all the things I'd faced being a new mother and fighting through post pardum depression. My mom's arms and my husbands arms were always open to me and understanding. When I'd have a tough day they would always reassure me that I was going to be alright. Also the lead Vocalist is my brother. He was catastrophically injured in a Louisiana Salt Mine accident involving his right arm and a conveyor belt. Watching him go through the PTSD and loosing everything --including his family tugged at my heart.

Lyrics

Tell Me Again
By Linda D. Pendley BMI Copyright 2005

Today I felt afraid
Just suddenly it happened
Like a cold fall wind and I don't know why.
I wanted to pull something safe around me,
Like a blanket of your arms
or the acceptance in your eyes.

So that's why I'm out here standing in the rain,

Needing you to hold me again!

Chorus

Tell me again
How you believe in me
Show me again exactly what you see.
Whisper in my ear while I cry,
How everything is going to be alright

Remember all the prayers
That you prayed for me
Did God really hear them?
is he watching over me?
Hold me near your heart for just awhile
for just a little while.

V2

It wasn't a big thing
Just the world got bigger
And I felt so small inside the busy crowd.
I looked all around
For a face that wasn't empty
But more loneliness and emptiness was all I found
then I closed my eyes and saw your face smiling back at me
That's when I knew just where I needed to be.

Chorus

So tell me again
How you believe in me
Show me again
Exactly what you see
Whisper in my ear while I cry
How everything is gonna be alright

Remember all the prayers
That you prayed for me?
Did God really hear them?
Is he watching over me?
Hold me in your heart for just awhile
For just a little while.

VAMP
I know I can go on
Don't you think I'm gonna quit
I just need some of your strength so I can handle it
So I can handle it
I'm gonna handle it!

Chorus
Tell me again
How you believe in me
Show me again
Exactly what you see
Whisper in my ear while I cry
How everything is gonna be alright

Remember all the prayers
That you prayed for me?
Did God really hear them?
Is he watching over me?
Hold me in your heart for just a while for just a little while.

Hold me in your heart for just a while
For just a little while.
