Story Behind The Song
I wrote this song immediately after breaking up with someone who did not want me to do so and who posed the question "What if you never find your way back to me?" I was going through an incredibly stressful, painful, cathartic time in my life and I realized then that my real job, my responsibility, my road to the truth, was simply to find my way back to myself, to find my way home. Until I took care of that, I was never going to be any good for anyone. I sat down and wrote the bulk of this song in 30 minutes.
Song Description
The image of this song is of a lone traveler on a twisting, turning highway seemingly to nowhere. The road is both beckoning and forboding. It's cold, the skies are threatening, the path is unclear, but rather than a quivering coward, the traveler is a resolute seeker of self awareness, determined to find truth and the freedom it represents.

Lyrics
On a highway lost
These twists and turns are sending me
To the wind I?m tossed
It?s keepin? me runnin?
?til I find my way home
Now it?s a slippery path
The darkest road?s in front of me
I keep lookin? back
I?m prayin? for shelter
?til I find my way home
Oh oh well it feels like a road to nowhere
And oh oh the trail is cold as stone
Cold as stone
Can this broken path lead me back
Oh oh and take me home
Stormy skies
They rain their darkness over me
I hope the sun will rise
To chase away the thunder
?til I find my way home
Find my way
Find my way
I?m gonna find my way home
Oh oh well it feels like a road to nowhere
And oh oh the trail is cold as stone
Cold as stone
Can this broken path lead me back
Oh oh and take me home
Now my shadow?s long
It hides the truth that calls to me
Like a lover?s song
It keeps me believin?
I?m gonna find my way home
It keeps me believin?
Keeps me believin?
I?m gonna find it, I?m gonna find it
I?m gonna find it, I?m gonna find it
I?m gonna find my way home
