Lyrics

Mandolin Song

I wanted to find me a new sound
I wanted to sing a song
I wanted to make me a new sound
I had to bring it on

So I went down to the music store
And I said "ok man-so what's in ?"
The guy looked at me and this is what he said
He said "did you try the mandolin ?"

I said
"Man this is is a new sound....
Man this is cool.....
How come I never heard this before ?
I've been such a fool"

Stratocaster Telecaster Les Paul
Hofner bass Martin strings
That was all
Epiphone Casino Gibson SG
Rickenbacker twelve string
Was enough for me......

So that's why I wrote you this Mandolin Song
That's why I wrote you this song

Stratocaster Telecaster Les Paul
Hofner bass Martin strings
That was all
Epiphone Casino Gibson SG
Rickenbacker twelve string
Was enough for me......

So I went back down to the music store
And I said "Hey man- d'you know anymore?"
The guy looked at me and this is what he said
He said "altogether now 2-3-4....

Stratocaster Telecaster Les Paul
Hofner bass Martin strings
That was all
Epiphone Casino Gibson SG
Rickenbacker twelve string
Was enough for me......

Very different , would fit well advertising a music store
got a commercial quality

Fun and witty and the music is pretty. A clever song. Even the monotone refrains are pleasing to the ear. I would like to give it all excellent, but I think this will not gather a million fans - however, those who like it will like it a lot, as I do. I like the clever lyrics and the music/melody is perfect for the words. I am adding it to my playlist.

Good novelty song. Interesting how the song seems to shift half way in.

unusual subject interesting, would fit in with a documentary on guitar collecting, good luck

I liked your instrumentation work

like this song - I've actually reviewed this before. The eq on the vocal is very good for this song. A lot of presence and clarity. Nice original work and very appreciated. Very memorable.

Nice! Great twist's and turns - very clever, musically and lyrically. Well done.

Really interesting...grabbed me right away...as a musician...I get it all....Nice little licks recurring...stayed with me...Like the vocal sound...fits perfectly

new sound indeed, very cool entry, cool mando. like it allot, though limited because of the lyrics re: written to the "audience" of musicians...

What a seamless song message! Never have words and music been blended so well???!
Ingenious making the song about choosing the instrumentation!
Nice mandolin playing and musical hook!

What a clever and humorous song! It made me smile and chuckle. Every guitarist will relate to this one! Great melody! Great lyrics with wonderful rhyme scheme and interesting syncopation. Wonderful instrumental performances and great arrangement. Nice space and clarity in the mix. Well crafted and performed. 5 stars!

loved the folk style, and his voice is soothing..

Very unique song! I really enjoyed the musical arrangement!

Good recording and instrumentation choice. Great vocal delivery and love the EQ on it. Creates a really nice atmospheric track.

I like it.
