Song Description

"What I See" explores how so often thing we can see as failures are really things we can learn from and be thankful for.

Story Behind the Song

As a survivor of childhood abuse, I'm often beset by doubts about what life really is all about. It helps me to remember the overall themes of life, that we are here to learn and grow and that we can use every experience we have to our advantage.

Lyrics

It's not as hard as it may seem to satisfy our hopes and dreams

It may not be what others view, but it's what I see.

And every time we're losin' ground, we just need to look around,

You may not see your deepest parts, but that's what I see.

It isn't possible to stray from our inevitable way

It may not be logical but it's what I see.

No one else can define how we really feel inside,

You may not see your deepest parts, but that's what I see.

Chorus: There's no way you can get lost, your truth will always come across.

No one can take what is yours.

There's no need to complain, to compete or explain,

You can trust your deepest heart, yeah that's what I see.

We know all we need to know for our divinity to show,

Shinin' through our deepest heart, yeah, that's what I see.

Sometimes we're afraid we'll run out of what we need today

It's all within our deepest heart, yeah, that's what I see.

You don't have to be strong to believe that you belong

Just live from your deepest heart, yeah, that's what I see.

Repeat Chorus

Tag: You can choose what you want to see but that's what I see.
