Lyrics
Hit Me Like A Copyright 2003 Kevin Mahan
Got a stab got a scare
Something fierce to beware
Hit me like a hit me like a boom
Hit me like a pow
Had me down
You were ?round curtains drawn
Heartbeat gone get the air in despair
Up go flares you were there
Saw your eyes shining
While I felt like dying
Somehow was inspiring and you were crying
Don?t you know I couldn?t die
Not yet, but I could try
To keep the breath flowing
Without even knowing
Our love was growing.
Thanks for the moon and the stars
Thanks for the love in our hearts
When darkness fell
It was just hell
'til you brought the moon and the stars
Do you think you heard taps?
Well, it started to play, but you made the tune fray,
Without a devil to pay
You wouldn?t let me collapse
Though scared perhaps
Where some people would snap
You never did flap and our love never lapsed
Always there for me,
You don?t need to warn me, ?cause I know you?ll never forlorn me.
Thanks for the moon and the stars
Thanks for the love in our hearts
When darkness fell
It was just hell
'til you brought the moon and the stars
Had to be brave
to ride the crest of this wave
I had no morphine to crave
I just while away the hours try to shower
Couldn?t feel the power but you never cowered
Knock knock knocking on the door but what?s more
Your tears nurtured my spirit, I could now endure it
Thanks for the moon and the stars
Thanks for the love in our hearts
When darkness fell
It was just hell
'til you brought the moon and the stars
