Story Behind The Song

I actually wrote this song at the time of the affair of Monica Lewinsky and President Clinton. The song was written from Monica's perspective - how she really loved him, but he was just using her at the time for his own convenience. The lyrics, "actor on a screen" refers to the president. The lyrics, "found the missing glove" are O.J. Simpson related.

Song Description

A young woman is trying to convince herself that she doesn't need her man - someone who is just using her at his own convenience. I don't think she succeeds in convincing herself that she doesn't need him - thus the last line is sung in such a way that she knows that she still does need him. (At least that's how I want it to be sung - with longing and heartache.)
