Lyrics

It was the spring of twenty one
A soft breeze in the sun
Dusty roads beckon restless boys
And mothers would tend to the young

In the fields on the edge of town
Horses and masters lay ground
Dawn to dusk breaking virgin land
Till the evening bell sound

To this new world they came
With hunger and hope and all that they owned
With the eyes of excited fear
Yearning for their new home
Like the Piper at the Gates of Dawn
Calling them far away
Fresh wind in their sails
Sailing to a new day
Late in the night as they looked oÂ?er the sea
Soft eyes facing hard times there would be
But they looked to the sea
They looked to the sea

By the warmth of the evening fire
The children would lay
Reading stories of distant shores
Longing to go there one day

From the darkness of sheltered walls
Hope eternal will spring
Soaring high above their fears
To the golden shores of their dreams
And in these dreams
New visions they believe
They can believe

So the circle never ends
And the longing never leaves
In the dreams hidden deep inside
There is something more they can be

On those beckoning dusty roads
Young men will carry their seeds
Planting futures in distant lands
Futures children will see

To this new world they came
With hunger and hope and all that they owned
With the eyes of excited fear
Yearning for their new home
Like the Piper at the Gates of Dawn
Calling them far away
Fresh wind in their sails
Sailing to a new day
Late in the night as they looked oÂ?er the sea
Soft eyes facing hard times there would be
But they looked to the sea

From the darkness of sheltered walls
Hope eternal will spring
Soaring high above their fears
To the golden shores of their dreams
And in these dreams
New visions they believe
They can believe
They can believe

Really evocative song.......beautiful vibe all the way through.......made me feel happy and content....

The melody is very pretty. Instrumental performances are great. Arrangement is intricate. This song is very distinctive.

I really like the production and mood of this song. if you're going for a sweet smooth feel, you nailed it. it's a great listening song and will be marketable to that market. i'm very impressed with the arrangement. it's very developed. I can tell a lot of time and energy was put into it.
