Story Behind The Song
I was feeling a bit depressed and was really beginning to doubt my faith. I had jest begun a faith journey - moving away from the traditional image of god and accepting more that god is in all of us. However, I still felt a comfort in having a faith. I still have used the traditional figure of god as a comforter and carer although this can and should be taken metaphorically.
Song Description
Taking the metaphorical image of God as a person standing waiting on you and watching you. You turn away from him and go your own way. you do things and think things you know should affect you relationship but when you turn around, he is still standing there. Here I Am is means that you stay where you are, doing you own thing until you turn around and see 'him' standing there - you get iun touch with your faith and it brings you back into a place of peace.
