Story Behind The Song
Living in a low rent apartment ($60 a month) while gigging 6 nights a week and hoping each night the right person would be in the crowd to discover my talent. This brought an inspiration to me to write this situation down and put it to music.
Song Description
Being a struggling musician looking for the big break to make it big. Wanting to move up in life instead of the current 'Cheap' motel turned apartment space he calls home.

Two Dollar Hotel
Music and Lyrics by: Ken Morse 1971 copyright 2003/4
#1 in Broadjam reviews July 2004
Down the dusty road ~ traveling
Unraveling the wisdom from the pain
Security is something in a telephone book
I?ve never been there long enough
For them to print my name
(Chorus)
So strum that old guitar you lonesome rambler
Stand upon that stage and give it hell
Keep hoping that tonight there will be someone in the crowd
To save you from another night in that 2 dollar hotel
Lay your money down let your numbers spin around
You?re a rambling, gambling kind of music man
You give your heart the lady?s take it
You?re hoping that no one will break it
The devil and the 2 dollar hotel have got your name
(Chorus)
So strum that old guitar you lonesome rambler
Stand upon that stage and give it hell
Keep hoping that tonight there?ll be someone in the crowd
To save you from another night in that 2 dollar hotel
Break ( one verse)
So strum that old guitar you lonesome rambler
Stand upon that stage and give it hell
Keep hoping that tonight there?ll be someone in the crowd
To save you from the devil and that 2 dollar hotel
To save you from the devil and that 2 dollar hotel
