Story Behind The Song
This song is my "theme song" in a way. I wrote the poem it was based on back in the last century - 1998! We had a poetry circle then, that would meet once a month, full of inspirational women artists, many of whom had been television stars in the 80's and 90's, and were now experiencing life as true artists. They were so inspiring to me, as a young poet/songwriter, that I wrote this poem, which became a song, which became a band and a movement. It speaks to the "wild roots woman" in all women (and men). That part of us that always just wants to be FREE, and a little wild.
