Song Description

Patriotic and romantic, this song asks the listener not to forget what makes America great: The fact that we can all come together on ideas about love and freedom.

Story Behind the Song

I wanted to write and record a song in response to all the recent activity with the Obama administration and Equal Marriage rights. I've been thinking lately about how the American collective perspective seems to have become polarized. I believe the only way we will ever get anywhere is when we accept each other for who we are and show respect and love. It's the only way to get things growing in the positive direction.

Lyrics

Who's the "We" in "Yes, We Can?"
Who's a part of this revolution?
I was there and you were there
And here we are, so what comes next?

When will we share
Love, Kids & Marriage?
Tell me if I'm wrong, but aren't we all a part of one great family?

Don't you think it's funny how we separate ourselves to try and try and understand?

But see, the problem is we tear our lives apart and we will never understand, so why don't you just take my hand and see if we can --

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, LOVE,
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, LOVE,
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, LOVE,
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, LOVE.

Who's a part of "Yes, We Can?"
Who's a part of this revolution?
Tell me if I'm wrong, but aren't we all a part of one great family?
