Story Behind The Song
I'm Executive Director of a nonprofit called These Streets Are Holy and we do music, mentoring and urban gardening with children in at-risk areas of Chicago. I'm also co-founder and producer for nouveau gospel band Out of the Whirlwind. These two things came together on the band's first album - Gospel Gumbo. The kids of the Workstudy Performing Arts choir learned and sang this classic song.

Lyrics
This little light of mine, I'm gonna let it shine
This little light of mine, I'm gonna let it shine
This little light of mine, I'm gonna let it shine
Let it shine, let it shine. let it shine
Hide it under a bucket No! I'm gonna let it shine
Hide it under a bucket No! I'm gonna let it shine
Hide it under a bucket No! I'm gonna let it shine
Let it shine, let it shine. let it shine
