Lyrics

Chained in bondage have locked me to the walls of this prison cell.
The gate is slammed shut and there is nothing I can do.
The guards chastise me and reunite me, kindly, with my past.
Regrets and wonders? (if I only knew)

I do deserve this.. (self pity starts to settle in)
For the guilt has turned my heart into stone.(To repel against what is true)
The jury sentenced me to death.. regrets and wonders (if I only knew)

I heard the warden say ?you have the right to make one call - but I do not know
Who would want to hear your voice!?
Remembering all of the things I never should have done.
But it was me, me who made the choice.

Then a man came inside and told me who to call.
I had to laugh at all the things he said.
I heard the name of Jesus and then I cringed inside.
I lived in darkness content to just be dead. And he said

Choose this day to make your stand against the wind of lies
That terrorize your land.
Choose this day to see the light out from the darkness
You?ll find help is on the way.

The words inside kept rumbling as my heart just kept on tumbling.
I did not know that I could feel this way.
A tug of war out of control. A spiritual battle for my soul.
I did not know, know the words to say.

More guards have come to bring me down.
More chains have linked me to the ground.
As I ?m surrounded by oppressing flames.
My heart inside would start to break as the prison gates would start to shake.
Then I knew what I had to do.
I called on Jesus? name. And he said..

Chorus
Solo

Now my eyes are open to the things (I am no longer imagining what it?s like).
Because now I am free. (Like Daniel in the Lion?s den)
Like Stephen when he was stoned by men, the son of God, he now lives in Me.
Although the chains are broken down and the gates have fallen to the ground,
This is not done, it?s time to lend a hand.
To all of the prisoners just like me, who were blind and refused to see.
So we can all follow Christ into the promised land.

Chorus
