Story Behind The Song
Suffering my first (and hardest) heartache as a man engaged to a woman who discovered the hard way that she was secretly engaged to another man, I found refuge in a spiritual director who patiently counseled me through the heartbreak. After writing the song for the man who listened, hugged, cried, and inspired me, people heard the song and assumed it was a romantic song written for a woman whom I loved and was inspired by. I have no problem with that interpretation either, as it's not meant to be gender specific, nor does it have to be platonic or romantic. It is for anyone who helps heal someone's heart the way he did.
Song Description
The song opens with a whimsidaisical "la da da da", strolling through one's thoughts of a person who lifted one's spirits out of darkness and into uplifting hope to the point of feeling like they can take on the whole world.
