Lyrics
IF ONLY By Jan Peterson
Staring at his empty chair this morning
I can't believe he's really gone
He always sat in Math and made us all laugh
The acted just as if nothing was wrong
I heard they were out for just a good time
A few bottles down and they were feeling fine
Chorus
If only we could take back that night
With sirens screaming
They came rushing to his side
We loved him
Loved him more than words
If only he had thought through
What his life was worth
Stopping by his house to see his family
They can't believe he's really gone
We used to all play pool there after school
His mom lets me in trying to be strong
It's all that she can do since that night
Only God knows the tears she's cried
Chorus
Bridge
Al the candles in his memory
Can't bring back that night
Can't bring back his life
Chorus
