Song Description

In the midst of tying to deal with a sour breakup - this song was written as a reminder of the memories that never quite go away. Especially the idea that no matter where you go, you always remember when the two of you were together - therefore creating the idea behind "The Ghost I Am" and the guilt that can be associated with it.

Story Behind the Song

The song was a result of an actual breakup that wasn't pretty.

Lyrics

I... am the shadow in your doorway
I... am the creaking in your home
I... am the voice you hear behind the walls
I... am presence you feel when you're alone

I... am the moon that hides behind the clouds
I... am the closet you won't dare to go in
I... am the moans you hear down through the halls
I... am the thought that reminds you of your sin

And you can run from my voice
And you can hide from my cold stare
But you... will never forget the way you stripped my soul
And created the ghost I am

I... am the eyes looking through your window
I... am the chill you feel up your spine
I... am the face you see in the mirror
I... am the truth that you deem simple lies

And you can run from my voice
And you can hide from my cold stare
But you... will never forget the way you stripped my soul
And created the ghost I am

And you can run from my voice
And you can hide from my cold stare
But you... will never forget the way you stripped my soul
And created the ghost I am
