Story Behind The Song
One night, Jason (the song's producer) and I were working on music and he started playing this bassline. I started writing lyrics at the same time. He went back and added drums, guitars, and organs as I was finishing the lyrics to the song. We finished the song all in one night.
Song Description
"Follow Me" is a song about a young man talking to a woman about how they can travel back in time and experience life in the American 1980s. He describes the sensation of time travel as well as the vigor of youth and falling in love. The song itself revolves around a simple bassline with guitars and organs coming in and out at certain times to build a good ebb and flow to the song. It sounds indie-rock with an influence of 1980s rock as well.
