The Argument

Story Behind The Song

The title actually comes from a choral work I was setting involving an argument between God and Satan (from Milton's Paradise Lost) - that didn't work out but the resulting melody lent itself well to a jazz treatment.

Song Description

Just a classic jazz instrumental, firmly rooted in the post-bop/cool tradition. Basically a laid back minor blues feel, but it's actually an AABA song form, played on piano, guitar, bass, and drums.
