That's Another Story
(C) 2010, 2012 All words and music by Warren Hein

Called my ex just yesterday
Told her the bad news
For once I left her speechless
And that's damned hard to do
She tried to fake a laugh
Then called me a liar
Had to hang it up
When she started all that cryin'
Bad timing I guess
But that's another story

Then I called my ma
She still kicks at 92
Told her she was right
'bout them cigarettes and booze
She lectured 'bout the afterlife
I said I wasn't scared
She sounded kinda worried
That I'm not quite prepared
But then again
Yeah that's another story

That's another story
There's too damn much to tell
I've driven through East Jesus
Stopped just north of Hell
Always hated questions
When straight answers will do
But lately I'm not so fond of truth
But then again
Yeah now, now
That's another story

Called my boy clock said late
More ways than one
Sure I'd been drinkin'
He nailed me on the rum
He's always been the good one
So for a change I listened
Talk about coincidence
He named his new son Vincent
I told him I was proud
And I missed him
The phone got real quiet
'cuz that's another story

Great sounding and very original song, written from the heart with truly great lyrics. I love sound of the singers voice and harp is a perfect touch. I always love a song when its real and this one fits. Well crafted song and very well written and performed. Works so well the evoke emotion and feeling.

This song is so forlorn and resigned, Tom Waits would be proud of recording something like this. Lyrically conversational, perceptive and straight on about the inequity of the first person character, yet not critical or blaming. Just a story about what the life of every person is sometimes about, and told very well. The tune matches the lyrics perfectly right from the get-go of the first few heavy guitar chords. More instrumentation builds up in subtle way...it creeps up on you before you know it, just like magic.

Really well-written song!! Lyrics are intense, interesting, and delivered with passion and authenticity. Love the use of strings.....hear some elements of Beatles/Dylan in the feel of the music. Really GREAT STUFF!!!

interesting folk track, liked the harp solo and the subtle strings towards the end. nice ending

Love the Acoustic Sound. Great Lyrics. Love the Cello and gradual progression. Very cool Harmonica solo!. Nice transition to outro chorus. Nice work!!

I like air in your voice has a little Rodger Waters sound at times.I like the concept of the song It has a good meaning!
