Story Behind the Song

From a CD released in 1997. Just wanted to write a positive, hopefully feel good tune for harrowing times.

The music makes this song. Did you like specific instrumental parts, lyrics--yes. I love the guitar playing. I think with better lyrics this could be a hit. I love the sentiment and the current lines but I know you can develop a better storyline. Great playing

Jobs of Each Section (does each section do its job: v1--character, context, setting; chorus--give the big idea; v2--take the big idea further; bridge (if necessary) --take the big idea even further
1) Does my intro make you want to hear the song? yes--very catchy
2) Does my opening line draw you in and make you want to hear more? Some what
3) Is my melody interesting? yes
4) Does my melody get stuck in your head? ye
5) Does my chorus stand out and take the song to a higher place? Some what

I think everything here was executed very well. While delivering a message we all need to hear over and over again in various ways around the world, it reminded me of an era of music initially triggered in the 60's and brought back again by a modern day pop band as a tribute nod to say the message lives on but the similar instruments, but a fresh vessel to express it.

Lyrics

Believe in Love

If we look in our hearts
We want to believe
There can be no doubt
It's what we need
We need to believe... Believe in Love

There's an emptiness down deep inside
An elusive need we strive hard to hide
Try to substitute in so many ways
Yet the pain grows stronger
Each and every day

Believe in Love
Believe in Love, Love, Love. Love

There's an apathy we can't deny
A selfishness we never satisfy
Daily images of war and hate
Make it difficult to keep our faith

Tell me what it is we need
Some consideration
Tell me what we really need
Respect and understanding

If we could only learn
That we could fly
We could soar so high and touch the sky
Up in the heavens with one voice sing
Yet we spend our time
Clipping each others wings

If we look in our hearts now
We want to believe
There can be no doubt
It's what we need
We need to believe... Believe in Love
