Song Description

This highly awarded songwriter with another 2015 win, ISC Song of the Year semi-finalist, gospel, Lay Me Down, [check its long list of credits at /laymedown] so I realize choruses repeat. These don't having written 1 verse & 1 chorus for each day of the war... then I came home to my own war, fighting for my own life which got in the way. However, when it's picked up, if artists want to repeat a chorus, fine, pick one. I couldn't. It was almost impossible cutting all the other v/c combos out and carving it into the vvc/vvc 4 min rendition, as you can imagine. Anti-politics, anti-war but way pro-troops... the definitive Toby Keith sentiment. This song screams for serious attitude and blasting torque. Take back 'our' America va 'their' America. Also, we're grateful for our last minute vocalist, since we all caught colds here. Great job, Chris! Mix could be better, but it's a great DEMO. In the interim... This DEMO was put together with a multi guitar band plus horns, B3, etc. And in concert, definitely screams for all military bands, drums and bugle corps, and even choirs to come out on the last verse. Mention of each branch gets earth shattering cheers from the crowd, you know how that goes. Any changes to get it recorded are fine. With the intent to end all war on the planet. Here's how: do it with the intent firmly in mind, number one. Then, supply the instrumental tracks to the troops and wounded warriors, or everyone, and invite them to write their own vv/c for it and sing it, or talk it, themselves on youtube and keep it going until all war is ended, everywhere. Silent. Peaceful. It can happen. We only need 100 monkeys, if you know that one. There are enough of us here now to do that. See: Jump It Up for World Peace on YouTube. I can also oversee energy demonstrations for live concert venue, negotiable. Take Back OUR America! Logic X tracks available.

Story Behind the Song

True story, coming home from Sedona, AZ we stopped at Cracker Barrel in St. Roberts... that's Fort Leonard Wood training base. When we walked in, i felt the atmosphere not like the usual CB, but, thick with tension, silent, somber, heartbreak, shock. First glance, soldiers standing tall in their board stiff starched dress uniforms, looking as brave as possible, ready to ship out to the war Bush started...for reasons still untold, don't get me started... I cut all those verses/choruses out so we wouldn't get shot, and nixed mentioning the name proper in the recent rewrite for this op. But the current administration did the same thing, more troops without consent of congress, so it's timely sentiment, again. I lost it right there on the spot, as I am now with the picture burned into my mind. A graduating class was there with their families... no one smiling, including me. I cried all the way home as the verses/choruses poured out intending to write one verse and one chorus for every day of the war thereafter, until it was over... and intending for this song to end all war on the planet... I didn't get the song out... the war still isn't over... and I came home to my own war of brute force and ignorance, a 3 month gas leak, fighting for my life then and ever since, learning a whole lot about 'Gulf War Syndrome' that was NOT addressed for our warriors who suffered and continue to suffer it and other chemical issues without proper attention from the US who put them there. www.ciin.org www.chemicalinjury.net and many, many more. Like I said, don't get me started.

Lyrics

[DEMO: needs someone on tracks & mix who knows what they're doing! Heartfelt sentiment, striking lyrics. If not having a repeating chorus is an issue, pick one - we couldn't out of several. Like, TKO, we have a LOT to say on this subject: pro-troops/anti-war. It was impossible cutting it down to the 4 minutes. Requires a screamin' hot vocal with serious attitude and torque!]

V - 1

Stopped for lunch down in ol' St. Roberts
On the way to my back door
Sat me down by a little angel
And his daddy in the corps
Sittin' quiet by his mama
Smiled up at me before
I could say I hoped these tears would bring
His daddy back from war

V - 2

No they did not have permission
From the U.N. or the fold
Yet they got their war in spite of it
For Truth they've never told
But with carte blanche on the gamble
It's a fix with every bid
When you're playin' with the house's dough
And someone else's kid

C - 1 For the Boys

Wellin' Up, Fallin' Down
Looks like you're leavin' this town
My heart is breakin' for you
Be very careful what ya do
Don't be a hero my son
The troops will get the job done
Count on your grit to get you through
And know The Force is there with you

V - 3

If there's one thing I could tell you
From a parent to a child
With the enemy upon you
And the guns all shootin' wild [spoken]
You can take this as my fervent prayer
"May you run like Forest Gump"
And live to tell each sordid tale
Should you catch one in the rump

V - 4

If a bullet finally finds you
And the fightin' falls to me
Just suit me up and haul me in
For Lady Liberty
Til then I'm right behind you
But if it should come to pass
I might catch a flyin' bullet, too
But it won't be in the [ ass! ]

C - 2 For the Girls

Wellin' Up, Fallin' Down
Ditch that white lace wedding gown
For O. D. green or navy blue
That Purple Heart will look good, too
My daughter don't you think twice
Don't try to talk and make nice
You pull that trigger right away
And live to see a better day

C- 3 For Everyone ~ bring in all military bands & choirs here

Wellin' Up, Fallin' Down
A Green Baret on your crown
Those Navy Seals keep slippin' through
Come Air Force boltin' out the blue
Special Ops right behind
To cover when you're in a bind
Boots on the ground up your gazoo
And Medics Dansin' in the doo

Tag/finis

Boots on the ground up your gazoo
Our gift from USA to you
