This Heart Of Mine
©2018 Greg Lambert
He's headed south on 301
Halfway through the long ride home
Hoping she will understand
He bet it all on a losing hand
She always was the only one
He said his drinking days were done
If it could be another way
He rehearsed the words he'd say
Will you take this heart of mine
It's been broke so many times
I was wrong I was blind
To ever let you go, the only love I've known
You can see what's deep inside
This heart of mine
She was taking clothes down off of the line
He could tell that she'd been crying
Smiled at him through her tears
He said the words she longed to hear
One of my favourites that I've heard from you Greg. Such a smooth and listenable song with a very catchy hook.
very well done
Freaking awesome ! Great story song, cool lyrics, great instrumentation. Well done young man !
Nice guitar, arrangement. Maybe a bit more imagery. Two way chorus works nicely! Emotionally got me when her chorus came in - good sign!
One of your very best Greg - and that makes it incredibly high quality. Everything about the song says top drawer Country. Plenty of pathos, the need to be forgiven, strong relationships etc. I love it and am about to play it again!
Wonderful, like usual! Thank you for sharing!
Love everything about this song. You have a certain tonality in your voice I feel is exceptional!
