Story Behind The Song
Actually there?s not much of a Story here-just business as usual. But I (and my studio) were living in Florida at the time. I guess I was letting my relative proximity to the Caribbean Islands influence the musical flavor on this one.
Song Description
This was originally composed to be used as theme music for a call-in radio show featuring medical and health topics. (!) Although it was never used, it?s a nifty, upbeat little piece sounding a bit like a Dave Grusin soundtrack. To get that ?Grusin sound? I used a grand piano playing single notes and occasionally parallel 6ths (it?s an industry term) on a cheerful F-major theme. Behind the piano we hear some tasty horns and strings, fretless bass and a funky, Caribbean-flavored drum track. Basically this sounds like a commercial without a voiceover in the middle.
