Story Behind The Song
I wrote this song for my father on the anniversary of his death. someone had once told me that during a gig they had seen my father on the stage with me - that line came into the song - I still feel you by my side - and was very comforting.
The words came to me in their entirety as I was driving past a bluebell wood close to my home at the beginning of May on the anniversary of my Dad's death.
The song does not mention any particular person in it.
Song Description
Thinking of someone who has gone, but still feeling their presence.
The time is set in Spring - the words mention that the bluebells are in bloom, and that the birds start singing earlier each day and summer starts in May
There's also the overtone of not knowing the person who had left - not really knowing them.
It goes on to say that I wish I'd had the chance to say how much I care and also wishes they could have said that they were leaving me...

Lyrics
I Still Think of You sometimes
and I still feel you by my side
I still miss you
I still wish you
Still were here
And I still think of you sometimes
When bluebells ring and small birds find their voices earlier each day and summer starts in May
I never knew you - not really well
I never knew you.
I still think of you sometimes
And I still wish that you could find
A way to let me know just why you left
And I still think of you sometimes
And I still wish that I could find
A way to let you know just how I care.
I never knew you, not really well
I never knew you.
Mmm....
I Still Think of You sometimes
and I still feel you by my side
I still miss you
I still wish you
Still were here
