Story Behind The Song
I wrote this song the day after the World Trade Center came tumbling down. I lived in New York at the time and watched the buildings fall before my very own eyes. It was an amazing thing to witness. Shortly thereafter, I turned on the TV I was shocked at how everything came to be and how the women were being portrade. They began showing Aghan women covered from head to toe and talking about how oppressed these women were. How they were forced to stay home with the children and not alllowed to go to College or have jobs.
Many of them were interviewed and through their burka's showed amazing power and beauty.
In America we tend to show that a woman's power lie solely in how tight her body is and how long her hair is. In Aghgan women I saw their beauty and power in every other way. Their strength and their speech inspired me to write this song.
Song Description
A song about powerful women worldwide. How it doesn't matter how much or how little clothes women wear, they are still powerful.
