Story Behind The Song
This is one I worked on for awhile. I think I wrote three different sets of lyrics for it and changed the name a few times. The song is built on the dissonant guitar progression you hear at the beginning of the song. I knew when I came up with it it could be part of a cool song. The song lyrics are about faith and they grew out of that longing I think we've all felt at times to believe in something more... Something or someone that is beyond us that we can take comfort in knowing they are in control. The song has some angst to it but I find it very hopeful too. I hope it has that affect on other people as well... --Brian Weber

Lyrics
Something More
(Brian Weber- 1/2004)
VERSE 1
Sometimes I fight to sleep at night
Thoughts racing thru my mind
With each sunrise we live our lives
But we start to question why
Pre-CHORUS
When your souls cried out
Can?t feel anymore
All hope is gone
Can?t dream anymore
CHORUS
You got to have faith in something
I believe there is something more
And maybe it?s all just in my head
Trying to get to some celestial shore
Somewhere deep inside me
I believe there?s a guiding hand
To lead us from these desert plains
Out into the promise land
VERSE 2
So I wait here in the dark for you to speak to me
(sound bites playing in my head phrases of the things you said)
The hope, the fears, the blood, the tears it will be worth it in the end
(memories that fade away a lost chapter of my pain)
