Story Behind The Song
Recently written song about a spoiled and materialistic girl, punk/indie rock 80 style. Recorded by my old band mates, with whom I played support act of The Clash in Paradiso Amsterdam (just 1,500 people) in 1978, all aged around 20.

Lyrics
Happy
Guitar intro (ringing)
Verse 1
You`re staring at yourself through a window pane
Had your boobs done when you were seventeen
You wake up pouring breakfast in a China bowl
Daddy paid your car and your birth control
Pre-chorus
ooh wish I could be like you
But my mind `s messed up in a way or two
Chorus
It`s raining but you`re happy
You don`t care about us
You`re shopping, island hopping
And you don`t care about love
Verse 2
Beggars in the street do not bother you
You just cross the road and look away
On the TV you see people die without a state
While you munch carrot sticks from a designer plate
Pre-chorus
Ooh wish I could be like you
But my mind `s messed up in a way or two
Chorus
It`s raining but you`re happy
You don`t care about us
You`re shopping, island hopping
And you don`t care about love
Verse 3
We looked for you when you disappeared
But no one really cared too much my dear
Life`s better without you now
Because your image disappeared somehow
Pre-chorus
Ohh don't wanna be like you
My mind`s messed up in a way or two
Chorus2
It`s raining but I am happy
I don`t care about us
I am shopping, island hopping
And just found my new love
It`s raining but I am happy
I don`t care about us
I am shopping, island hopping
And just found my new love
