Song Description

a song about realizing that grace is a Christians only righteousness and only need

Story Behind the Song

Lyrically, the song grew from a sermon I heard by Gary Kinneman. In it he talked about "By their fruit you will know them" then he said.."it may lousy lemons, and only a few of them, but there IS fruit" that hit home for me

Lyrics

Changes seemed slow to come to me
Lord I'm so glad I finally see
Corrupted tree bears no good fruit
Now I can see, Grace is the truth

chorus
And Your grace is shinin'
Shinin' so clear
Joy of my salvation
I hold so dear

You laid Your life down on the line
You had no sin, You paid for mine
All through my life I didn't see
Your sacrifice was grace to me

chorus

Sometimes grace is hard to accept
I try to be righteous by myself
But everything good I ever do
Is all through the power, and the grace I've found in you

chorus
