Song Description

i started writing this song over the summer of 2012 while Christine and i were living together. Her cancer had progressed to the point where we both knew she wasn't gonna live for much longer...she passed away on April 4th 2013...i finished writing it, and had it recorded that night.

Story Behind the Song

this song is about life, love, death...

Broadjam Member Reviews

The song was real simple and sweet. I loved the harmonica.

Lyrics

Life can bring you down, turn your head around...thinking about the way it used to be...
Every now and then, it brings you round again...all you ever wanted is to be free...
Nobody holds you down...you're still laying on the ground...
Everybody knows, there's something in a rose...that makes your heart grow...
Nobody knows you're gone...so hard just holding on...
Running down the line...running out of time...waiting for someone to set you free...
Waiting for the one...to show you that you're done...and here you are in front of me...
I know the past is gone...no future in holding on...
We'll sing another song...as we roll along...the rose within our hearts can't be wrong...

Christine...Christine...prettiest girl I've ever seen...please come back home again...
Christine...Christine...where have you been?...please come back to me again...
I need your eyes...I need your smile...come walking through my door again...
Christine and Me...Forever and a Day!...and so much more that I can't explain...
I need your eyes...I need your smile...come walking through my door again.......
