Story Behind The Song
I wrote this song for my wife on our ten year anniversary.
Song Description
A man reflects on the changes that have occured during the first 10 years of his marriage. He realizes that besides the great romance that is still going strong, his children have also been a great blessing and that life moves on quickly so we should "take it slow."

Lyrics
TEN YEARS AGO words & music by Dave Brandt
VERSE 1
Do you recall our wedding day ten years ago? /
We took a chance and bet on our love and laughed at tommorow
and when that rain began to pour you couldn?t help but cry
so much had gone wrong - but the sun came out and we pledged and joined our lives
CHORUS 1
Years they fly by/ Honeymoon fades into long nights/
with lulllabyes and toys and dolls/ and we?re coaching kids at basketball as they grow
Can you believe it was ten years ago?
VERSE 2
We?ve changed over time but our hearts are still one - there is no doubt
I look in your eyes and I still believe that God helped us out
?Cause we?ve made mistakes but through it all we both stayed on the road
and on this journey there?s been laughter and joy that started one day ten years ago...
CHORUS 2 (same as Chorus 1)
CHORUS 3
Years they fly by/ now we need a van that seats five
Busy days as children grow/ these days won?t last forever - let?s take it slow
Can you believe it was ten years ago?
I?m ready for a lifetime more
