Story Behind The Song
I wanted to write a song about original sin from the point of view of the serpeant, and I didn't want it to portray the serpeant in a negative light. I wanted it to have all the feel of suspicion and coaxing that the biblical serpeant had, but I wanted the listener to feel like the serpeant was speaking to them. I think for some this song will hit a frightening button while in others it will hit a fun and playful one.
Song Description
This is another one of my songs that is a little difficult to categorize. It takes a lot from Robert Johnson-esque delta-blues but has a very modern production. The result is a song that sounds in many ways like an old delta-blues song about temptation and the devil but is texturized with instruments and effects that you often hear in metal songs as opposed to blues songs. In the end, it is gloomy sounding song that has fun with the original sin archetype. Incidentally, I played all the guitar in one track. None of it was double-tracked. What you hear is what I play live.

Lyrics
I'm just a little ol snake, babe
Waitin in the ball-pit for you
I'm just a little ol snake
Who's tryin to show you my point of view
Who says that you are a dog
Rollin in your own filth?
Who says that you are a dog
You have your own free will
You're lookin good on your own, babe
Dig deep and find that pride
You're lookin good on your own
Let me scratch that itch you feel inside
I did it my own self, babe
And look where I am now
I did it my own self
And I'll never will again bow
Cmon now you know what's good, babe
Cmon now you see the lie
Cmon now you know what should, babe
Claim your right and testify
I'm just a little ol snake, babe
Waitin in the ball-pit for you
I'm just a little ol snake, babe
Please don't misconstrue
I'm just a little ol snake, babe
Ain't tellin ya what ta do
I'm just a little ol snake, babe
What's true is not taboo
