Lyrics
Fourth of the July, I won't lie, we had a good time.
Sparks will fly, and I might, throw you a line.
Milwaukee was still, and we were thrilled, to be on the green hill.
Sparks will fly, and I might, throw you a line.
Chorus:
We can be heard over this tonight, kissing you under the moonlight.
Making it hard to hear the fire, of the lights that settle quietly.
And the crowd sings loud.
And the crowd sings loud.
We shared the first embrace of the lips, in front this same band, 3 years ago. And now we're growing older, but we're still the same, swaying to and fro and fro.
We can be all we want, so solitarily.
I wrote that song, 3 years before this night in old Milwaukee.
La da da..., and the crowd sings, la da da...
The show wrapped up, I stood in awe, like some surreal surrounding.
Lake Michigan shone the city lights in my eyes, and saw my heart was pounding.
I'll never recreate this scenic display, but I can paint this music.
Yeah, the Independence Day music.
