Take Me

Story Behind The Song

I was sitting with my Noni (grandmother) and she inquired of my song writing process. I picked up the guitar and started making up the riff. I think I wrote the song in about 30 min. I was going through a period of uncertainty with my boyfriend at the time. I think that is why the song has a sort of disparaging feel. My grandmother inspired some of the lyrics as I was picturing my Noni as a young girl in Catholic church when the first words came to me.

She wouldn't buy it cause his story was the tallest one in town
She said I'm going outside

Through all your lies, but he said

Here I am head in hands wondering
Will there ever really be just one for me
Cause I swear it's cold outside
And I don't think that I can bare another day of waiting
So help me please
