Song Description

A song that mixes jazz influences with the heavy sound of grunge, but soft melodic vocals carry on throughout. This is just the demo version, and not the final version.

Story Behind the Song

I needed lyrics for some music I wrote while trying to write something similar to Another Brick in the Wall. I decided to write about conforming and the dangers it can bring.

Lyrics

Goodbye Personality
(Original)

You're alone in the cold
You're trapped all on your own
I see your blackened face
All your sins and shame
Tried to change who you are
Now your soul's been torn apart
So you follow what they say
And let your life fade away

You threw your dreams out of the door
Casualty of internal war
Think of all the days that passed
Boy did life go by fast

No one to wipe away your tears
Summer's over winter's here
Fitting in you sold your soul
Went and threw it in a hole
Look in the mirror at yourself
You're barred in a self made cell
Do you like the life you made?
Is it worth the price you paid?

You threw your dreams out of the door
Casualty of internal war
Think of all the days that passed
Boy did life go by fast

Your spirit's torn beyond repair
Your eyes are empty nothing's there
You're stripped of all integrity
Say goodbye to personality

You threw your dreams out of the door
Casualty of internal war
Think of all the days that passed
Boy did life go by fast
Boy does life go by fast
