Story Behind The Song
Grandaddy had this old metal patio chair that rocks. After he died I was given the chair. I have my coffee every morning out on my back porch in that same chair. I have alot of GREAT memories related to that chair that my Grandaddy used to sit in. Those where the good ole' days.
Song Description
This song is about my Grandaddy and the good times back when I was a kid. Not too long ago you could still pray in public schools. I believe that we have been robbed of our God given right and that is Freedom of Religion, the right to bow your head and give thanks for your meal in Public Schools. The name God has been taken out of The Pledge of Allegiance. Lord hellp us all.

V1
I'm sitting in Grandaddy's rocking chair. The life he lived is very rare.
He worked his fingers to the bone. In his hometown he was well known.
Chorus
This old chair Iam sitting in takes me back to yesterday. To a time when life was good.
When you could bow your head to pray. When a man would marry a woman and not the
other way. This old chair has seen much better day's.
V2
He raised six kids on a farmers pay. Plowing those fields in the sun all day. He served
the Lord his whole life. He bowed his head to Jesus every night.
Chorus
This old chair Iam sitting in takes me back to yesterday. To a time when life was good.
When you could bow your head to pray. When a man would marry a woman and not the
other way. This old chair has seen much better day's.
V3
Grandaddy didn't have much school. His precious hands was his main tool. Life was good
way back then. You waived to your neighbor's and you called them friends.
Chorus
This old chair Iam sitting in takes me back to yesterday. To a time when life was good.
When you could bow your head to pray. When a man would marry a woman and not the
other way. This old chair has seen much better day's.
Chorus
This old chair Iam sitting in takes me back to yesterday. To a time when life was good.
When you could bow your head to pray. When a man would marry a woman and not the
other way. This old chair has seen much better day's.
