Story Behind The Song
Doug Sharp wrote the lyrics inspired by a birthday card showing rabbits dancing holding birthday presents. Clifford Fry put the lyrics to music.
Song Description
The song is performed by Dr. Fry's Texas Medicine Band, a popular band in Houston in the 1980s and 1990s. Dr. Fry's Texas Medicine Band was one of the most played independent artists in worldwide radio in early 2000s. The tune is available on ITUNES under that band name. It was once released to U.S. country radio as a 45 RPM on the Fraternity Lable out of Cincinnati, Ohio. The song was also sent to Europe, Australia, and New Zealand, where particularly in the latter country it still receives considerable airplay.

Lyrics
THEM RABBITS GO DANCIN'
(Clifford Fry, Douglas Sharp)
Them rabbits go dancin', dancin'
Them rabbits go dancin', dancin'
Them rabbits go dancin', dancin'
YOU RABBITS STOP THAT
YOU RABBITS STOP THAT
They danced in the tulips, tulips
They danced in the roses, roses
They danced on cowslips, cowslips
They wrinkled their noses, noses
Them rabbits hate disco, disco
Them rabbits hate dog and cat fights
Them rabbits love moon glow, moon glow
Them rabbits don't use no flashlights
Them rabbits go dancin', dancin'
Them rabbits go dancin', dancin'
Them rabbits go dancin', dancin'
YOU RABBITS STOP THAT
YOU RABBITS STOP THAT
Them rabbits paint eggs at Easter
They mix 'em with nog at Christmas
One rabbit fell on his keister
I bet it was the one from Texas
Them rabbits are happy, happy
Them rabbits have birthday presents
Them rabbits are crazy and carefree
Them rabbits are oh so pleasant
Them rabbits go dancin', dancin'
Them rabbits go dancin', dancin'
Them rabbits go dancin', dancin'
YOU RABBITS STOP THAT
YOU RABBITS STOP THAT
