Story Behind The Song

More "country folks" are content and positive, not surly and defensive or all-out redneck party animals. I wanted to write about that. These are most of the people I knew growing up where I did.

Unlike so many "country folks" portrayed in songs as being wary of outsiders, defensive about their lifestyle, or full-time party animals, this guy works hard on his farm, loves his wife and child, and wants to keep doing what he's doing.
