Stand Strong

Story Behind The Song

This song was written right after I learned that my father was sick with cancer. I put myself in his place and wrote this song, more for myself, as a way to see the light at the end of the tunnel. It was myself crying out for him to stand strong and make it through. He didn't, but he certainly did fight until the end.

Song Description

Lyrics

Stand Strong

Her hair was golden, her eyes were green
When she smiled people said an angel could be seen
On nights when the rain is pounding she can barely breathe
As this sickness lurks inside she screams I wish I could leave
It?s a sad creation, a hate so strong
An inner war that takes a toll on those who feel they can?t go on

Oh??.
Oh??.stand strong
Oh??.
Oh??.stand strong

Her life was never easy, her life was full of pain
But one night she realized she could see beyond the rain
And with the light of energy, and with a little spark
She found a glimpse of hope lying in the dark

Chorus

Now she breathes deeply every single day
Now she sees much more than the brown and gray
She doesn?t ask herself, how can I go on
She simply takes another step (3x) and smiles at the dawn

Chorus

We never know when life will cower and take flight
But while it?s here we should always, fight.
For the right to live and breathe and laugh and dance and sing
For death will come to everyone but life is now so let it ring

Chorus 2x

Her hair is golden, her eyes are green
When she smiles people say, an angel can be seen.
