Story Behind the Song

I was walking along the sidewalk
Down another winding street,
Did come upon a presence,
Something brushing against my feet.
I froze upon the spot I stood and felt my body shake,
I had the knowledge that in my own hands,
Lies the power to change my fate.

That was the clouded veil of freedom.
It follows us around,
And when we are ready to accept the truth

I was swimming in Pend Or'eille lake,
When I felt a presence there,
I turned to look behind me
And was caught within it's glare,
It told me that I'd better change
The pathway that I tread.
And if I don't stop the negative,
Then my heart will soon be dead.
