Lyrics

Bye, bye, my Whitstable Girl,
Lord knows, we had our fun.
You and I, we gave it a whirl,
What else could we have done?

Remember those halcyon days in May
When all our cares seemed to fade away,
Two love-birds merrily making hay
Underneath the sun.

Bye, bye, my Whitstable Girl,
Lord knows we had our fun.
You and I, we gave it a whirl,
What else could we have done?

Why, oysters strolling beside the sea,
Delighted to have your company.
Now tell me, what shall we have for tea?
Answer came there none.

Bye bye, my Whitstable Girl,
Lord knows we had our fun.
You and I, we gave it a whirl,
What else could we have done?

High tide o'er-topping the harbour wall,
The fate of nations too close to call.
Lord only knows where the dice will fall.
Lives lost and won.

Bye, bye, my Whitstable Girl,
Lord knows we had our fun.
You and I, we gave it a whirl,
What else could we have done?
Why, girl, what else could we have done?

Quote: "James Neilson Graham's unique vocal style and emotional song delivery have to be heard. Give it a listen. I guarantee he will grow on you!"

"Whistable Girl" is a most unique folk song with simple acoustic guitar that can draw the listener into the singer's vocal vibrato which dances around the pitch of notes but always seems to find the right note at last. The song has a feeling that goes back into the twenties era type of music of where life seemed so much simpler. I did enjoy this folk song so much after listening over & over that I believe a great deal of music consumers once exposed in a proper medium will become fans of Mr. Graham's music. I think his followers would be loyal to his work with this uniquely different style of performing, and the folk song lovers will enjoy his clearly different style too. Thank you and I hope you, James Neilson Graham, continue to write more songs as I look forward to reviewing more in the future.
