Stolen Emotions

Song Description

Rejecting any ultimate transcendent meaning for the universe (like neo-Darwinian science ala Carl Sagan) leaves one without any basis upon which to believe in things like love, compassion, peace, standards of thinking, judging, order in the universe, music, etc. Same with neo-pagan views of being "one" with the universe, and finding "god" within yourself. Those who reject the Creator and worship instead the creation are in fact borrowing and stealing love, thinking, judging, compassion, peace, et cetera from the Creator in their very denial of him.

Lyrics

Verse 1:
You're just a speck in the cosmic universe.
It's all there was or ever will be.
You say life is just the product of eternity
so you're free to choose your destiny.

You're at one with all creation
and you find god within yourself.
You say death is nothing more than a silence.
There is no judge, and no hell.
Well if that's the way it is, then.

Chorus:
You love with stolen emotions.
You think with a borrowed mind.
You judge with stolen standards.
You're living with borrowed time.
Stolen compassion is your mercy.
Borrowed solace is your peace.
You sing tunes with stolen melodies.
In your heart you're self-deceived.

Verse 2:
You take your view , I'll take mine,
and we will live in harmony.
We will tolerate only those who tolerate,
and don't impede our liberty.
Well, if that's the way it is then,

(Repeat Chorus)

Bridge:
Ah, you look at me, and say I'm living in a dream.
But I - I say to you, that things are not what they seem.
(Repeat Chorus)
