Story Behind The Song
I wrote this while thinking about how much i miss my dad and how we used to just jump in the truck and head off to do stuff together.
Huntin, hikin, just goin on a drive and enjoying the scenery. Or maybe just to run to town and pay some bills or pick up supplies.
Now I have kids almost grown and I wonder how yesterday turned into today and tomorrow is coming so quickly.

Lyrics
Come On Daddy
Wanderin' back to my yesterdays
Boys ridin in the pickup with his daddy
On a lazy day
We're headed to town
He's got some bills to pay
Maybe later take a ball to the park
A little time to play
verse 2
I'm turnin around
Here I am today
Tears on my hands
I wish I had another chance to say
I wish that I could tell you
chorus
Come on Daddy Let's head back home
again
Take the backroads we like to drive
It's one of those lazy days
And everything's gonna be alright
verse 3
Here I am
How could it be tomorrow
Seems I barely got to know ya
Can I have some more time to borrow
I got my kids
We're Always on the go
In a minute gonna swing by the park
We got a ball to throw
It's Just like then
Just like you and me
Yeah there ain't Nothin better than to
Raise this family
And I can hear em callin' me
chorus
Come on Daddy Let's head back home
again
Let's Take the backroads we like to
drive
It's one of those lazy days
And everything's gonna be alright
bridge
I know you always loved me
I'm so glad you were always there
Since those days have slipped on by us
I'm still thankful that you cared
chorus
Come on Daddy Let's head back home
again
Let's Take the backroads we like to
drive
It's one of those lazy days
And everything's gonna be alright
