Story Behind The Song
I spent several years in Europe after my youth on a farm in a fairly small town. The enlightenment that I had to what is real in this world was a slap in the face and I realized how complacent we've all become in America. So one day in Paris I was playing around with a funky riff and trying to figure out how we had gotten to this place and I asked the people of America, "Why don't you just believe everything that you hear?"
Song Description
This song is my love letter to middle America in the way that I am showing them their life as it is right now, without real news, with religion breathing down their necks, and with no ability to relate to other people including their children. But you know what it's ok, you just go on believing everything that you hear and you'll be just fine.

Lyrics
You tune in each day
To watch the talking heads have their way
With the useless facts so you can relax
And drink your beer in your chair
Don?t you know that it?s all ok
There?s no war, there?s no hate, there?s no gay,
There?s no white there?s no black, there?s no indifference,
There?s no intolerance, there?s no ignorance,
There?s no poverty, racial equality is fine
Because you?ve met your quota of black friends
That you call African Americans
Why don?t you just believe everything that you hear?
Why don?t you just believe everything that you hear?
Your children are getting old
But your meatloaf is getting cold
So why not let them learn all they need to know
By watching reruns of Beverly Hills 90210
We can let them learn about life in school
We can let them learn about love in school
We can let them learn about sex in school
We can let them learn about God in school
Why don?t you just believe everything that you hear?
Why don?t you just believe everything that you hear?
