Not being a religious person, I have little knowledge of the Bible, but one thing has remained with me since those faraway days of Sunday School - God charged us to look after His garden, our Planet Earth.

Lyrics

The Angel of Mercy sat back when day was done
Surveying all her handiwork gleaming in the sun
It's a time for rejoicing so let my people know
The planting it is ended, now watch my garden grow
Nature is in harmony, God's mercy is divine
Let no man say that you must starve for all you see is mine
The Garden it is big enough for everyone to share
The bounty of the harvest and the pleasure of the fair

How through all the different lessons that history has shown
All the different ways that humankind has grown
Should millions of innocents have really died in vain
That we should make the same mistakes again

Away across the Universe the Devil laughs with glee
One black, one white, one yellow child balanced on his knee
I'll teach you how to hate, to fight and kill and maim
For no other reason than your personal gain
And though some may speak of brotherhood
and peace and love and law
By the colour of your skin, I'll teach you to wage war
Peace is for the weak, you see, love is for the slow
If it takes a thousand centuries, you'll see my garden grow

How through all the different lessons that history has shown
All the different ways that humankind has grown
Should millions of innocents have really died in vain
That we should make the same mistakes again
