Song Description

Good feeling track about feeling good and enjoying the moment. Sort of a cool Motown vibe, but has this awesome Hawaiian slide guitar work and "cool" modern/retro feel. The laid back main groove reminds me of "Under the Boardwalk" in attitude.

Story Behind the Song

Story line is obvious. Otherwise, started as a song written by the singer's husband in an earlier version with a different title. It was re written (as a co writer) and arranged by the producer for use on Jennifer's project.

Lyrics

Had Enough Of Heartache

R. Gentry / R. Smith

Verse 1
Don't it feel good today
Rain has finally gone away
I just had to stop and say
Life is feelin' good that way

Verse 2
Drivin' through the countryside
Nothin' really on my mind
Layin' back and feelin' fine
Diggin' on the summertime

Chorus 1
Cause I've had enough of heartache
Messin' with my life
Gonna feel the sun
Even in a cloudy sky
Had enough of heartache...
Gonna have to let it slide

Verse 3
Don't it feel good tonight
Everybody's feelin' alright
The moon just seems extra bright
When I hold my baby to my side

Verse 4
And when I look to see your face
Feel the warmth of your embrace
Time is just an empty space
Never want to leave that place

Solo

Chorus 2

Repeat Chorus
