Story Behind the SongI was asked by a good friend to write a song to give to his best friend, who was also his ex-girlfriend. He was moving away from home to work, and wasn't going to see much of her, but at the same time wanted to say goodbye in an original way, and let her know that he was still thinking of her. He also wanted to be with her again, and asked if I would write something for him to say all of this. I think I did it.....so did he. Apparently he played it over twenty times in a row when I first sent it to him!

Lyrics
I wish I didn't have to go right now,
That I could find a way to stick around.
I'm sorry I'm leaving, I have no choice.
I have to live the life that I have found.
CHORUS
I have to leave, I have to go away,
Smile and wipe the tear from your eye.
I don't know when I'll be back to stay,
So lets make this the longest goodbye.
The hardest thing is to walk away,
Knowing that I'm leaving you behind.
You're one that I can't bear to be without,
You'll be the one that's always on my mind.
CHORUS
I'll miss you with all my heart,
I wish we didn't have to part.
I want to know how the story ends.
Will we ever be more than friends?
The time has almost come, I'll soon be on my way,
I've packed up all my troubles, hopes and fears,
I hope it won't be long before I'm back again,
I close my eyes, and you will be right there.
CHORUS
