Chorus
Under her wing, she could keep me in a safe place
Sometimes she'd sing a song from way back in the old days
A place of refuge, safe from everything
She cured all ills and I knew I was OK there
A squeeze of her hand reassured me I could stay there
With all the comfort in her world that that could bring
When Momma tucked me under her wing

Verse 1
My parents used to tell me in life be strong
But they were always there whenever things went wrong
In the long dark hours, in the dead of the night
When the bad dreams just wouldn't leave my head
Her arms around me, lying on her bed
Then I'd hear her say, don't you worry babe, we can put things right

Bridge
A place of warmth and love, where I could take shelter
Whenever I was feeling small
She'd whisper soothing words and I just used to melt there
She gave it all, she gave it all

Chorus
Under her wing, she could keep me in a safe place
Sometimes she'd sing a song from way back in the old days
A place of refuge, Safe from everything
She cured all ills, I knew I was OK there
A squeeze of her hand reassured me I could stay there
With all the comfort in her world that that could bring
When Mama tucked me under her wing

Verse
It's a while since then and my folks have gone
Momma's love just carries on
Inspiring all our lives
But our children still have their doubts and fears
And at time need help to dry those tears
Then I hear my wife say, don't you worry babe, it'll be alright
And I remember.......

Oh the love she'd bring

When Momma tucked me under her wing

oh .... this is a nice one. like your voice. scratchy and sad really puts the song across. strong hook. good job

What's not to like about this? Lovely heart felt song .

Love the song, the story, and backing track... It's honest

great production!

The story of the song is sweet and gentle, which sort of went along with your raspy voice. The instrumentals were excellent.

I really enjoyed listening to this song. It had a really nice feel to it. The instrumentation, vocals and production all worked very well for this song. Everything about it was nicely done. It has an "Old Country" feel to it, which was refreshing to listen to it. Nicely done!!

This is a comforting song, very well done. All the parts gel very nicely.

Bob, this is a winner for sure. Although it was long, it was the kind of song that I almost wish would never end. Brought back memories of my own childhood and my mom. Great story line. Love seeped through every verse. There's everything to love about this song! Love the way it transitioned to your wife in the last verse. I'm so glad you sent me this song! Thanks! Mrs. Kate

What a fine lyric. Bob at his best. Well done mate!!! Right production it's a massive hit.

Bob, this is a beautiful song. I was imagining my mother the whole way through, and thinking "How did you know my mom?"

Very beautiful. Thank you for sharing it.

Itend not to give personal thoughts as I know every artist has their own sound and style, so that's not for me to critique.

Nice tribute to a Mother's love. Lyrics are very touching, it is amazing how a good lyricist can describe complex emotions with so few and simple words.... Not much I can tell Bob as a constructive criticism. I was impressed by the overall sound that you have. The instrumental section very well mixed down, and as usual, you have this special grain in your vocals that I adore and makes it a Bod performance.
Bravo, all the best with it !

And merry Xmas to you and your loved ones.

Thierry

Bob, this is a really wonderful tune! It's so powerful, that I couldn't finish reviewing it....it hit way to close to home for me!! I have been thinking about my own relationship with my mother, some very powerful unanswered questions..... Great song Sir!! I will be thinking about the theme for many days to come, that's a Super piece of work for sure!!
Please accept my apology for not finishing this review!!
