Rockin On Saturday Night
© 2014 Lyrics & Music by Bob Bentley

Verse 1:
Sitting here with a beer in my hand, knowing what I'm gonna do
Want to go dancing have a good time, can't do it without you
Oh oh oh you know it's gonna be alright
Oh oh oh you know I want to see those lights
Going to call you up and rock you on a Saturday night

Verse 2:
Red hot band and a bar full of beer and I know I'm going to lose my brain
Some blues and some rock n roll and I can never be the same
Oh oh oh you know it's gonna be alright
Oh oh oh you know were going to see those lights
Call you up and rock you on Saturday night

Bridge:
Other people will be dancing around, while we're in a world of our own
With our minds on each other and holding each other tight
We're going to go rocking on a Saturday night

Verse 3:
Later on when we get back home with the music in our minds
We're going to lie in each other's arms and you know we'll have a real good time
Oh oh oh you know it's gonna be alright
Oh oh oh you know were gonna see those lights
We'll be rocking on Saturday night

Bridge:
Other people will be dancing around, while we're in a world of our own
With our minds on each other and holding each other tight
We're going to go rocking on Saturday night

Outro Oh baby you know we're going to see those lights
We're going to be rocking Saturday night

Oh baby you know it's gonna be alright
We're going to go rocking on Saturday night

Oh oh oh you know we're going to see those lights
We're going to go rocking baby Saturday night

Almost a Bruce Springsteen sings Country sound. Very nice.

Great country song with a subtle heartfelt message. The slide guitar and all instrumentation are spot on for this track. The familiar melancholy melodies and arrangement make this a very easy and pleasant listen. The bridge is placed perfectly and provides a nice lift for the closing choruses.

The opening lyric, "I wanna go dancing; have a good time, but I can't do it without you" and the reoccurring message that, "Oh... ya know it's gonna be alright..." seem to tell a story of carrying on and the timeless message of "until we meet again".

Great job on this!

Who doesn't like a song when there's a pedal steel in the arrangement. Nice vocal delivery and the performance by the musicians fits the arrangement well.

Nice mix. Good tune!

really like this style
great recording
bass & drums work well
Good vocals

A classic country sound with a rock flair.

There is a poignancy and likability in the singer's voice that is undeniable. Warren Zevon's voice comes to mind.

Fine arrangement and production.

Fun song that feels good..

Great feel. I loved when the drums and all the other instruments kicked in. Good job on the track. Loved the harmonies and the backing vocals. Great job.

Awesome song. I loved the melody, and the words were very original and well thought out. Great voice, as well.

This song has the feel of an old time country tune and the arrangement and instrumentation are excellent. The song is well mixed and mastered. The theme of looking forward to seeing his girl on Saturday night is a common one and resonates with a lot of listeners. I think the song could appear on a TV show or in a movie.

Really good song. Excellent instrumentation and vocals. Harmonies are good but are buried in the mix a little bit. I think this song has great potential.

no heartbreak in this country song. two people who just enjoy each others company. a good uplifting song. refreshing to hear that kind of song.

The instrumentation worked well for this song. The overall recording quality and arrangement were well done. The lyrics told a story, which is what Country music is all about. I enjoyed listening to the song. It has a Soundtrack kind of feel.

Kind of reminds me of Warren Zevon meets Bob Dylan.

Nice vocals. Good instrumentation. The lyrics are good. I like this. Has a nice tempo also.

You have a wonderful voice and it was sang really good. I think it would be better a tiny bit faster. The lyrics were good and it was sung good, i would tweak the melody just a bit. It drags a little in places. otherwize it was a good write.

Has a great throwback country feel to it. Reminds me of the porch swing at grandma's house in summers past. The lyrics tell a great story, very visually appealing. Easy to fill the dance floor with this one!
